This easy to sew Little Black Dress sewing pattern by Deby Coles of So Sew Easy features lace, net, mesh, or chiffon overlay. The bodice is lined and lining the skirt is optional. Gentle lines and easy construction with a darted bodice, and a straight skirt with small pleats. There is an invisible side zipper. Your lace or chiffon overlay can hang lower than the inner skirt if you prefer. This pattern is available in various sizes and while the dress design is sexy it is not overly revealing.
This is an intermediate level sewing pattern. The instructions within the pattern for this dress assume that you have experience sewing with non-stretch/woven fabrics as well as making basic adjustments needed (as with most patterns) to achieve a proper fit. Sewers using this pattern should know, or learn with practice, how to sew an invisible zipper. Some experience lining garments can be helpful but not required.
