If you want your finished sewing projects to last then you need to finish the edges so that they don’t fray. When we are sewing with woven fabrics, the raw edges (unless you use pinking shears) will fray over time. Fabrics such as anything loosely woven, quilting cotton, and lightweight woven fabrics.
